Starwood Amex thinks Courtyard by Marriott is a "timeshare"

I am having a weird problem with my Starwood credit card. I recently stayed at the new Courtyard by Marriott property in Ciudad Juarez and charged the stay to my Starwood credit card. I noticed that I was not credited with the 6 miles per dollar spent directly with the Marriott property that I should have been. So I opened a case with AmEx and they said they would check with Marriott.

Well today I got a message from Amex saying the property was a "timeshare" so I do not qualify for points. This makes no sense as a Courtyard by Marriott is not a timeshare.

The problem seems to be that the property is charging things using the franchisee's name and it doesn't say Marriott Hotels, but the charge comes up as Imobilaria CC on my credit card statement. Amex insists that this is proof that I not make a charge directly with the hotel, but rather at a "timeshare." This makes no sense - this is simply how this Marriott charges credit cards.

Does anyone have any idea of how on earth to resolve this?
