I'm curious how (if at all) Wyndham status is displayed to FDAs at check-in (or when assigning rooms, etc.) I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's hidden in some sub-menu or wall of text that's easy to miss, especially given how few hotels seem to know what status is and the (basic) benefits it provides. The only thing that's guaranteed as an on-property benefit for every rewards status tier is free wi-fi, even though almost all their brands offer that free by default anyways. Diamond members do get a "welcome amenity" at some brands, but not all of them (it's not included for Days Inn, Super 8, Howard Johnson, Travelodge, Baymont, AmericInn, La Quinta, Trademark, Dazzler, or Esplendor.)

If I were able to make some changes to the status tier benefits, I'd start by offering some guarantee of the late check-out and early check-in benefits offered, along with the suite upgrade for diamond members. Ideally the system would automatically open up check-in at those times (or prompt for late checkout) for eligible members, along with suggesting a suite upgrade automatically at check-in or at room assignment time. Then I'd go towards expanding the welcome amenity system-wide, adding it to the Platinum tier, and adding free breakfast as a benefit to Diamond members at brands that offer breakfast buffets non-complimentary. Finally, I'd add an additional points bonus for each stay without having to book a specific bonus points rate (perhaps 500 for Gold, 1,000 for Platinum, and 2,000 for Diamond.)
