Well, congratulations on that. You really must have convinced them because I never heard of them being THAT generous. However, wanting the 150 bucks from you does sound like PC. Yes, one has to requalify for RA every year plus pay the now $100 renewal fee for Ambassador.

I think you won't be dissapointed from RA status (plain Ambassador may be a different story) in comparison to HHonors or Hyatt Daimond. However, if you prefer rooms at the club level and lounge access (for the food, you got plenty of drinks in your mini bar) then you might have to press them for that. I normally get quite nice suites, but they are rarely on the club level. Make sure that if you get such a suite that they extend lounge access to you, otherwise; there will be no free breakfast if it isn't included in your room rate. This is a real difference to HHonors (don't know too much about Hyatt).
