your big risk here is if you have any checked bags. Unlike arriving in the US you MUST collect your bags, in Europe bags are typically checked through to final destination on the itinerary unless stopping overnight or changing airports (I know there can be exceptions)

The agents in the US may not be prepared to short check them and they will not check them to France

So you may have to wait some time to get them in London and then re check them
