Arrow Homewood Suites by Hilton Calgary Airport {CAN}

I had a 3 night stay here last week. It's right next to and a bit newer than the Hampton Inn that is attached to the Homewood. I chose the Homewood since the rates were a decent bit lower than the HI, especially with the MVP rate, and booked a 1 King bedroom. Overall I'd stay here again given suitable enough rates. I think I averaged ~C$105/nt before tax.

As usual, the all suite setup was roomy and comfortable. The only thing I had a problem with was the iron. It seems it wasn't kept up well and left rust marks if you used the steam function. Thankfully I noticed this before I ironed my shirt and went to the front desk to show them this and they sent up a brand new in box iron. ^

The breakfast was fine, I'd say it's a step up from a Hampton Inn since the eggs look and taste like eggs, but the rest of the spread was the same boring and low-ish quality stuff. The evening managers reception was a bit of a disappointment. I made dinner out of it on the final night since I had already turned in my rental car, but the days before I went out in search of real food. Not pictured but they always had soup too. One night they had "chicken gumbo" which was basically just broth with a few pieces of veggies thrown in.

Yummy. Look at that big bowl of romaine lettuce with 4 types of salad dressing!

This night they at least provided warm grilled chicken strips to go with the salad. I got all excited when I saw the chafing dishes out and thought ooh real hot food. Upon opening it though, it revealed bread sticks. Sigh.

I thought the happy hour was free at Homewoods? Not only is it crap beer it's crap beer at bad prices.

There's a nice little indoor pool and hottub though that's shared with the Hampton.
