I and my partner ended up hiking to the peak over the course of two nights. We took the Seven Lakes trail, hiked up to stay in Dolic Hut the first day; ascended the peak on day two, hiked all the way down to stay for our second night in the hut right by the parking lot. Prior to the hike we stayed in an Airbnb in Bled. We had a rental car for the whole trip.

A guide was not necessary, though we did need via ferrata gear, which we picked up in Milan.
