Yep..... last year I booked Hilton Liverpool about an hour before I checked in ( a meeting in Manchester overran and I couldn't be bothered to drive home ( and I got upgraded), I also once walked into the executive lounge at Hilton Canary Wharf and booked a stay for that night using points, went downstairs and checked in......no issues
