You can book same day in the app. Front Desk can't book award stays. You either must cal Hilton reservations or book online/via app.
Note, points values arent great at a lot of TX Hilton family hotels. Especially at Hampton Inns in TX (Which most cities of any size will have) the cash rate is so low that it's better to pay cash. Always books via Hilton reservations or online/app. Never book at the front desk. The walkup rate is always higher then what you can get booking online. You can book till 2359 for that night online. After that it must be via Hilton reservations or at the FD.
