I'm surprised that someone that travels "a great deal" would be confused by the extension of membership through the end of February 2006. In any event, Starwood, Hyatt and I believe Marriott (the top programs) follow a membership year policy--just like the airlines. In the case of Hyatt, for example, if you re-qualify for Diamond in 2003, your status is good through the end of February 2005. If you re-qaulify in 2004, your stauts is good thrugh February, 2006. It's that simple.

I now know that PC's program is different. For me, with the payment of $150 US, I was granted RA status (based on my other status). However, my RA status will end in one year or at the end of July, 2005. At that time, I have been told that normal qualification requirements will be followed. I am very eager to see how RA status compares to Hyatt Diamond and Star Platinum.
