FWIW our daughter-in-law recently flew 13 flights within a six-week period, carrying a passport in her maiden name and tickets in her married name. Only once was she asked about the name difference - there was an amendment in the back of her passport. She was carrying our grandchild, and, in fairness, was accompanied by our son, but the point is that only once out of x number of checks in 13 flights was she "challenged."
No particular comment about the wisdom or ethics of your idea, other than to say such an idea wouldn't be a problem if my son attended a concert for which I bought tickets in my name, etc.
