QF will not buy all of AN - why would it ? Its the biggest pack of worms - the only realy asset they have is SYD landing slots.

It will be carved up between QF,DJ, a new SQ venture maybe and also NZ could come in some capacity (or should i say cipaceeety).

And hey, lets not get all narky about this - QF are not really at fault that AN stuffed up. So now if it picks the pieces and at least helps some of the pax, it should be applauded.
