Isn't the annual fee on this card $95? So if you get a $100 credit and subsequently are charged the annual fee - your next statement will have a $5 credit balance? (That's why they're offering you the hundred bucks, right? To offset the cost of the annual fee.)

To directly address your question, purchases made with your card should earn miles whether you obtain a statement credit or not.
