Exactly, I have flown the much maligned AF fixed shell seats. I did have to use my pillow for back support, but it was nice that the seat in front of you cannot move, and no one gives that enough credit. When I flew AA PE the person in front of me decided to take advantage of the generous recline on a daytime flight the moment we get in the air for the entire flight, so things felt a lot more cramped pretty quickly.
