Hello fellow travelers,
I'm a first time visitor to Shanghai/mainland China and would like to ask for your help for restaurant recommendations for an upcoming 5 day trip. I'm quite adventurous in trying new/bold tastes but my travel companion doesn't like things such as intestines or hearts etc and wants to stick to more western meat cuts but with the typical Asian flavor. What I'm particularly looking for are all you can eat experiences in the mid-price range like Korean BBQ, Hot Pot, Shabu Shabu, preferably those that also have drinks (beer) included. I first saw this kind of deal in Hong Kong and hope to find such deals again in Shanghai. But we're also open to other Asian dishes/cuisines.
We read we should try Haidilao for Sichuan HotPot and Qing Ge Hu for Korean BBQ. MoMo Paradise was also recommended to us by friends who've been to Shanghai.
As much as we love Asian food, we always try the best burger we can find in a city. We went to Beef and Liberty in HKG and loved it. We know there are branches in Shanghai but maybe there's also a local joint that's even better? One other dirty pleasure of us is to eat at the Cheesecake Factory and since there is no Cheesecake Factory in Europe, we always go there. Is it as crazy to get a table there than it is in Hong Kong?
One last question. Are there currently any great deals in Restaurants that we need to know of? I read that there are many Monday burger deals in Shanghai, so I guess it would be stupid to eat a burger on Wednesday night. Any other restaurants with such special deals?
If it matters, we're staying in the Renaissance Zhongshan Park
Thanks in advance for your help! It is much appreciated.
