I have been holding a booking for 72 hours on BA website and payed 10 euros for this.
Now I am trying to pay my booking but BA website keeps saying (after confirming the payment with my debit card) :
"Booking error
A system error was encountered during the confirmation, or return of your booking.
Please try again later."
I have tried with several debit cards and even with PayPal. Same result.
Problem is my booking will expire in 1h now, and nobody at BA can answer since their contact service is closed.
What should I do ? If I loose this booking, a new booking will cost me about 4 times more.
I have never been able to complete an on-hold booking using the website, always getting the same error you're seeing. I think you're going to have to call.
On the occasions I have done this, the problem seems to have been that the cost of the flight has changed by a few cents/pence, causing the confirmation to fail. Even the agent on the phone has had problems in completing the booking.
