Okay, thanks for the heads up on that -- I didn't realize that.
So now my options are to either lose 500 VS points to get a magazine that I don't necessarily need, or lose 1500 SPG points but at least it bumps up my VS points to over 10,000 pts and extends the life of that account so that if I fly VS again in the next 3 years, I can work on getting SOMETHING out of them.

By the way, I guess I had forgotten to mention that my AmEx card is a Starwood AmEx so my points automatically dump into Starwood, which means I can't transfer AmEx points over to VS.
