Just returned from FS Koh Samui. While overall it was good, and an easy hop from Hong Kong, there were a couple of disappointing elements. Firstly our room was really jungle-dark with no seaview. It was a specific room type to cater for 4 of us (2 adults 2 kids) so maybe those rooms are limited. At $1,200++ USD a night, I have had better FS rooms. The beach BBQ on Monday night was average at best, and cost us $600 with 2 cocktails and a bottle of standard wine. Buffet style can always be a bit underwhelming, but I had to complain about the cold food which was awkward, and was just underwhelmed by it. Even with 4th night free, cost compared to Amanpulo etc. I would go back (ease of travel a key factor from HK) but with those niggles rectified. Booked with Virtuoso but no upgrade offered on check in (is there ever?!) though the director or rooms did offer us a 2 bed villa for a mere $800++ a night extra :-)
