In the business world it's more or less expected that you fly home Thursday night to have Friday available for desk work. When you get home at 11pm Thursday you should receive 100% of the per diem for that day as you've incurred the costs of a full day of travel.

When I worked at a Big 5, it was 100%. But maybe that has changed too since... but I have no idea now.
