They've not recognised my GGL status and put me on the upgrade list at LHR today
Does this ever automatically happen?

Expecting the usual zero from AA anyway.
Did have the "economy is over there Sir" when I went to the First / Flagship check in earlier with my cheapo Y boarding pass. Should have pushed the DYKWIA opportunity here but a flash of my golden card let me through.
