Call MI and ask for instructions to avoid showing a physical card. Pretty much every carrier has a means to do this. Sometimes it's a bit old-fashioned such as faxing in a copy of the card and so on. But, there are all manner of reasons why people lack the physical card by the time they check in and are stuck being asked for the card.
