I think I have the opposite problem though. I do not want to terminate in HKG. I want to continue on to DPS. The standard routing on this with an F award would be JFK-YVR-HKG all in F, continuing on to DPS in J. The problem in June was that the USA-HKG leg had no availability, while the USA-HKG-Other Asia did have it. Now it seems to have flipped, despite the fact that all legs are bookable individually.
