Cell Phones Interfere with Plane Instruments?

Modern airplanes and instruments have enough shielding to prevent interference from all but the strongest RF sources.

I believe the current prohibition of cell calls is to keep the aircraft cabin somewhat pleasant from additional noise. Who wants to listen to a bunch of people chatting away on their cell phones. Obviously WiFi is OK or the airlines wouldn't be installing those systems.
