Does anyone know if this hotel will hold luggage during one's trip to BOB? It looks like the baggage weight limits to BOB are really low (20 kg per person.)

Our return flight from PPT leaves at 2:30 am -- should we plan on spending the last night at the Sheraton as well? It looks like the last flight leaves BOB at about 5pm -- is there a place for dinner near PPT or a decent airport lounge? We're flying Air New Zealand in business class.

Many thanks in advance!
My wife and I just came back from our honeymoon in French Polynesia and have some good insight. By the way, if it's your honeymoon, you should work with www.spghoneymoons.com. They were able to coordinate most of the excursions (although most things can be done from the hotel) and knowing that someone is working for you from the States was truly a blessing! Cheers to Valerie and her cooworkers from spghoneymoons.com!!

1. Coordinate with the Bora Bora Nui staff who will meet you at BOB. They will take care of your luggage and whisk you off to their paradise of a hotel. Hilsa is a native and speaks very good english. Eleanor is from So Carolina so she can help translate for you.

2. I don't know if the Sheraton Tahiti will hold your luggage but there is a "luggage holding center" that will hold your bags in PPT (it's located in the middle of the parking lot; look for the signs hanging down and painted in the streets). It costs six dollars for a duffle sized bag and goes up from there. I used them on my last day to hold my luggage before flying back to LAX.

3. Forget about going to a nice dinner before leaving. After spending an average of $35US per person for a meal, a cab driver told us of "La Roulotte" which are food trucks (think roach coaches) that park in an area in downtown next door to the Papeete Visitor's Center. They begin showing up at 5PM but open for business at 6PM and I had my BEST and CHEAPEST meal there. When you're done, just hop on Le Truck (the price goes from $1.30USD in the day to a whopping $2 after 6PM) to head back to the airport. If you take Le Truck, just remember that you must hit a doorbell like buzzer above your head to signal to the driver that you want off at the next stop. There isn't much open AT ALL after 5PM anywhere in French Polynesia.

Have fun!
