Really nothing non-standard about it. Depending on size of company, they may not even use a TA. Instead an employee simply goes online and buys a ticket. Employees upgrade to F from company bought tickets all the time. They simply call DL and pay difference. For BE fare I've found DL usually will allow you to pay the difference if you explain what happened.
