For example, a while back United and American made a big deal of increasing the seat pitch in their coach products. Personally, I'd like to see a bit more width in the coach product. I'm convinced that my shoulders are as wide, if not wider than the amount of width assigned to me in coach (at least I feel that way when seated next to another male of average height/weight.)
I don't think this whole question makes a lot of sense. The average coach seat on DL is 18" wide, and the B/E 767 seat is 18.5" ... both are fine in general if you ask me, but the big difference with B/E is that the next seat over is what, about 8" over, not smack dab next to your B/E seat, that's the advantage ... same goes with coach. I'm a pretty big guy and I dont' have a problem with seat widths in general, what matters is how far over the next seat is, which is the real advantage of premium products, not how wide the seat itself is. Your mixing apples and oranges trying to compare coach seat widths to premium product seat widths I think.
