This is a newer customer service gesture. I have seen it across the system so I'm not sure how the flights or passengers are selected. I think intra-California may see proportionally more luv with this gesture, but that's just my own guess based on the California Strong initiative. I will say that it's usually pretty fun to watch it happen!
