$100 24-hour cancellation fee
I'm curious if anyone else has been charged a $50 "each journey" fee, for a total of $100 per person (in my case that is US$), when cancelled within 24 hours?
I am based in the US and therefore am unable to make bookings to Auckland via Tahiti on the website. As such, I was forced to use the call centre. I ended up having to cancel within 24 hours. When I received the refund, each person on the ticket was charged a $100 service fee. I inquired about it and was told the service fee was $50 for each journey, therefore $50 for LAX to AKL and $50 for AKL to LAX.
I looked at the service fee description on the website and it says fees can be charged per ticket or per journey depending on the situation. I've never experienced this before and find it quite excessive, especially when I've heard stories of NZ waiving the service fee for Elites.
I'm just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience.
