I disagree with you and just about everybody else on this thread. Some of you are saying that the OP and others are projecting American sensibilities about nudity on other cultures. In fact that is precisely what you are doing yourselves -- projecting Western standards. While Europeans are generally more casual about nudity than Americans, the majority of the world's population is a lot LESS casual about it. Think: Middle East, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, much of Africa, etc.
The OP could easily be from any one of these places. For many, being seen nude by a stranger of the opposite sex is a humiliation that might not fade for years.
