Don't expect much, and every now and then you'll be pleasantly surprised. If you have... really even the bare minimum of expectations, you will be disappointed more often than not. IHG is good for churning out points for free stays with minimal frills in somewhat more budget friendly locations than the other major brands. Darthbimmer's assessment is spot on. Couple of drink vouchers and a higher floor room are the norm, and even that doesn't always happen. I've been thrilled with free breakfast a small handful of times (this is how pitiful IHG plats are) and the occasional fruit plate.

I like the program because IHG properties tend to be in the locations I want to go at the price ranges I want to pay. I'm not as ...... as many of the other FTers.
