However I did see plenty of old white geezers with young Thai women walking on the streets.
Clearly there are some people who are uncomfortable about who they imagine are the folks around them. I'm an old white guy who is married to a young Thai wife. She doesn't pay enough attention to who else is in the lounge to let her imagination run wild or feel conscious about what people may think of her. She once dropped some shopping with the concierge of a hotel in Bangkok in which we were staying. The concierge thought she was the errand girl from the shop where she had bought the goods and asked if they had any sales going on. She thought it was funny, suggested he stop in, and went about her businesses. He was quite apologetic to her later when he realised she is my wife.

Initially she was shocked to have been sent to the immigration dark room at Changi to ask what she was doing in Singapore. By the third time she just got used to the delay. Part of the price to be paid as a pretty, young Asian woman.

I used to travel with a Singaporean woman who was the sales director while I was pre-sale director. She also didn't pay attention to who was with whom around us. Apparently that worked out for her as she is now the MD of a major global software company's regional business.

If one doesn't feel comfortable, by all means stay elsewhere. But I think we can move on to other topics specific to the hotel.
