So following up on a ticket for my event on August 13. I got points and no nights. Spoke with the GM at the hotel who says he can’t repost the event with elite nights and Marriott can’t award any elite nights so he apologized for me being caught in the middle of the merger. I called MR back and supposedly a specialist will review my ticket for no elite nights...we will see.

i was able to book a meeting at a Courtyard in Hamilton, Ontario. This is my first ever meeting. I am 12 nights away from Platinum status. Will book a 2 night getaway for the extra nights needed.
I inquired via the online link on the hotels website. The events co-ordinator responded within a day and after providing more details, she offered the hour meeting for $150 plus HST. She suggested that an early morning or late meeting time would work best for the hotel. I graciously offered to have a 7pm meeting but asked if she would consider a $100 fee in return for my flexibility. She accepted. The meeting is in a month from now. The contract she sent does ask for the Marriott Rewards member number so I’m hoping there will be no issues with getting the nights. I am prepared to chase them down if need be.
I said that I was conducting an interview and that I would not require any AV, food, just a table and some chairs. I do plan on showing up with a business looking bag, buy a coffee in their bistro with my SO in tow.
We plan on staying at some Marriotts in Europe in 2019 so having Platinum status is well worth the $100.
