I'm amazed if true, because I know of an instance for sure where a colleague was denied entry trying to get in, albeit last year. He went evening, he never takes business trips for us due to his role and apparently he wanted to maximize the lounges. He thought he'd be clever and spend the night airside and depart for Tokyo in the morning pretty sure he was on CX548.

I only found out this story months later. He ended up sleeping on a table near Aisle A and entered around 5am when security let him through.

But I've read other results on here. Are security procedures regarding who goes airside really that arbitrary? There must be some time or cutoff to it...no?
not entirely sure but i entered after 2300. +1s flight was at 0145 and i was on 0745 CX548
