I would disagree with you based on my experience at Phoenix - I rented in August, and only ONE of the fullsize SUV's had 4wd (I checked em all because I wanted it). It was a Tahoe that had over 30,000 miles and smelled terrible. So... I picked a brand new Expedition with 2wd instead. Truth be told you really don't need 4wd unless you are driving in slippery terrain up a hill (and last I checked most or Arizona doesn't have much "slippery surface" on tarmac). Any other scenario and 2wd will do you fine (since off roading is barred from the rental agreeement anyway
