Somebody allowed the interns to mess with the software again.
Here's what happens. My BAEC location is Germany. But I always select English as my preferred language. Yes, BA's German is almost as annoying as Lufthansa's English. But I digress.
The language selection does indeed make booking a flight impossible. I had to change the language back to German to actually book a flight just now.
When you get to the passenger details page, you're supposed to enter the
passenger name and the
title. BA somehow likes to remember me as
Herr Maluku_Flyer and that field is already filled in
greyed.
Then I need to fill in the mandatory field
title. But there is no
Herr in the drop-down. Mr., Rev, Rabbi, Professor ... but no
Herr. OK, no prob, so I click on Mr. But that causes my name to disappear from the name field. I can reenter that - but then the Mr. disappears again. Calling myself Rabbi or Rev doesn't help either. Total Catch 22.
Next problem may be Firefox related.
Changed the language back to German and managed to almost complete the booking. But Firefox would not let me proceed to the payment page. No error message, nothing. Just no reaction. Same if you try to go to reserve seats first. That page won't load either.
Exited Firefox, fired up Chrome - and finally managed to book my flight.
Edited to add: blocker of ads (bad word in FT circumvented) is installed on my Firefox
Edit #2 : the confirmation mail also forgot how to speak German and can no longer do umlauts. This is what the mail looks like now:
This bit is fixed now (11.10.18)
