Yes, it was and is opened for paid selection, I could select prior to T-24 as I had an earlier connection on the same PNR. My concern would be that i'll only be moved at the gate, and then my party of 2 will be semi-randomly re-assigned. Thanks for the loading info, I'd assume from that, that they'll definitely close the 1st cabin, if CW loads are light. On balance it's probably best for me to pick what i think are the best CW seats that are available, which currently appear to be 7E/7F.
