YES, I've been wondering this for a while. Too chicken to try anything now since I'd hate for RAT to claw back my pts based on not meeting min spend so Its been sitting around in my google acct waiting. One day I called and asked if they could transfer the refund to another card or just issue a check and they said they can't do that. I did ask what they would do it that card was closed and couldn't recieve a refund and the lady indicated they could process another form of refund with a written statement from Amex that the acct was closed so we'll see.
I think closed accts can receive refunds too so plan C was closing after the year end and seeing if I could just get amex to send me a check after the fact?
Not sure though. Just some thoughts.
