Very possible. Lot of others have done the same thing. You're good to go. If you can't find anything on the aisle, you use your fullsize reservation to get the vehicle you need, or if you do find something you want to take on the aisle, you can cancel the fullsize reservation.

Have others been able to do this strategy successfully? There is no penalty for canceling a reservation? Seems like National would not like this practice and would crack down if it is repeatedly done. Like book 2 refundable flight and canceling 1 of them.
