From reviews its looks like 11A and 11K are the best seats in the cabin but I would like one of these for the 3rd person in our group. Currently they are "blocked" for passengers that might have baby/bassinets.
Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on when those might open up to snag. I have read 48 hours out and I have read wait until you get to the lounge day of to try a move.
Any other strategies from you SQ veterans.

You can call and request 11 A or K, and since you already have 11 D/F, you are very likely to get it for your 3rd person, with the caveat that they will have to more in the unlikely event that there is a need for the basinet. I say unlikely because there will still be the other basinet seat, and it is unlikely, but of course not impossible, that there would be a need for 2. If you get an agent that says no, try again.
We flew KIX-SIN-KIX in 2017 and 2018 and we're able to get the bulkhead basinet seats (seats 11 H/K on the a330) on request for all 4 flights with no problem. It is also not correct that SQ blocks out bulkhead seats for their elite members on all flights. We'll be flying KIX-SIN-KIX again in Feb 2019 and like you, we were able to book 11 D/F online for SQ622. And as I said, we easily got the bulkhead on request for those 4 flights in 2017 and 2018. I do not even have a SQ account. All flights were booked using UA miles, and Ive no status with UA (have not flown UA in almost 20 years, all my miles are through a cc), so it certainly does not seem that SQ blocks anything for elites on this route, or at least not in the months (Jan or Feb for CNY) that we fly.
