Going there with some friends beginning of November. Do I need to be worried about tainted alcohol at all? I assume an international brand like Hyatt will have more protections than a more local resort, but not sure.

You are overreacting to sensationalized media stories. There have been ZERO reports of tainted alcohol at any of the Hyatt resorts. These hotels are exceptionally well run and I feel personally safer at them than at most comparable resorts in the states.
