I am credit card platinum, and have stayed at IC hotels twice (both using a credit card free night).
At IC Bangkok, I received a choice of free breakfast or free happy hour. I took the breakfast and was quite pleased that I even received the offer, not to mention the breakfast was excellent.
At IC Hong Kong, I received a room upgrade to a junior suite (inland view). Also unexpected and appreciated.

I guess that any upgrade is up to the specific hotel, so you should focus your efforts on finding out what upgrades might be received at IC KL. You can also look at the hotel reviews in tripadvisor, filter using platinum key word.

By the way, your profile says you are already platinum. Platinum and "Platinum Elite" are the same thing.
