It reminds me of the time that I was standing by the (domestic) belt at JNB and a transfer bag popped out onto the belt. (Coincidentally, I think that it was tagged for PLZ.) A member of ground staff happened to be nearby, so I told her. She then attracted the attention of one of the baggage handlers on the airside of the hatch, and then - to my surprise - suddenly heaved the bag the wrong way through the hatch to him so that it could be taken off to the next flight. I thought that she was going to tell him to pick it off the belt after it had gone round once.
