I am a Diamond and will be booking 2 rooms since we will be traveling with our adult son. Obviously, we would love a suite upgrade and I noted escape4's point on the lack of suite upgrade at the Sukhumvit. The option of buying the discounted Diamond panoramic suite upgrade of 1k THB at the Millennium is very appealing!
We will have a 7:30AM flight for Tokyo on the day of departure, and I was told that the Sukhumvit is a bit closer to the airport, correct? Thanks again for your insight
The HS is definitely closer, could probably get there in 25 minutes at 4:30am or so in the morning, whereas you would add say 15 minutes more from the MH.
Now you choose a hotel based on what you want to to do in Bangkok - if you want to do lots of things on the river, stay on the river - want to explore the shopping malls, then on the Sukhimvit BTS line and so on etc. Bangkok is a large city and even getting around on public transport can take a while (not to mention, squashing in with everyone else on board).
