One single comparison doesn't tell you anything about the two programs generally. It's like comparing room rates of two hotels in Munich and concluding that Hiltons are always cheaper than Marriotts.
Note also that Hilton points are approx 2x easier to earn than Marriott points.
The biggest difference between the two programs IMO is there are lot more Marriott/SPG properties I'd rather redeem at.
