Yes, these routes are very very hard to clear on a CPU. My secret, if you're willing to go out of your way, is to route like this: Asia - GUM / GUM-HNL / HNL-ITO / ITO-LAX / LAX-YYY. The ITO-LAX route is insanely easy to CPU on, or grab a confirmed upgrade. I don't think it's worth it, however, if you are going beyond LAX, since the extra stop for a red-eye recliner isn't that fun.
