What I was pointing out that once you’ve combined, you have a single account. Eg. let’s say you have 50 night on SPG reached before the merger and 49 with legacy MR. If you combine now, you become PP and if you’ve spent enough, PP+A after the next stay. So far ao good. The question was if you’ll get two plat years towards lifetime status after the next stay or not.

I know everyone speaks about lifetime PP and the end of years sweep - my question is about the rest of us.

1. If the promised end of year sweep is all about lifetime PP check, we won’t get the “extra credit” for 2018.
2. The lifetime counter didn’t increase in the new program after reaching 50 nights, so propably will only show that end of year, which means if you combine now, you might as well end up with a single year credit for this year.

Which means there are three options with no clear end results:

a) Combine now, have a single PP account with 99 nights, reach PP+A and hope that qualifies for 2 years for 2018.
b) Wait until the 50th night with MR, combine then, reach PP+A and hope that you get 2 years (better chances to argue with Marriott about it)
c) Wait until January, loose out on PP+A but get 2 lifetime years for sure.
