Blocked seat (sometimes yes others no)?

So, a question for you savvy travelers out there as I don't fly that often compared to so many of you...

I have a GVA-HEL flight in J coming up (E190) in a few days and when I chose my seat,

i.e. 2D, 2F is blocked, and if I move my seat choice to let say 3C, 3A is blocked.

Another flight later this month also in J (GVA-HEL) the seat next to my chosen seat is not blocked. How come? I'm AY Gold if it makes any difference...

GVA-HEL (E190) flight 1

GVA-HEL (E190) flight 2 later this month

Also, seems like there is a pattern in seats blocked (or maybe even already taken?) as my 2nd screenshot above.

I was also under the assumption that J in Europe would always have it's seat next to one blocked (maybe different for the E190 as the pattern is to start the seat choice off)?
I honestly do not remember what it was in the past of all the GVA-HEL flights I've done with the E190 as I always fly with my partner and we sit next to each other regardless but this is a solo trip for me...
