Gatwick-JFK flights BA 2272 & 2273: 3 or 4 class cabins?
My incoming BA flight lands in LGW and I need to get to JFK. So the obvious choice would be to get the connecting flight BA 2273 LGW-JFK so that luggage is checked through from origin to final destination.
But BA2273 (& BA2272) has no First class tickets on sale, although the last time I flew that route (6 months ago), the plane was a 4-class 777 jet with Club World having access to F cabin. Seat Guru always seem to give the 4 class cabin on this route.
Is it still the case or does BA put the normal 3 class cabin on this route? I will be using GUF2 to upgrade my entire CW booking to First, but this upgrade is not applicable on BA 2273 at it has no first. But at least, if the plane is the 4 class cabin - albeit with only CW seat being marketed-, i can expect to access the F cabin.
Obviously i have the option of collecting my luggage in LGW and making all the way to Heathrow to enjoy Concorde lounge and a first class seat on a B747, but is it worth the hassle? I'll be doing the return trip as well.
thank you
