How about this situation? Marriott account - lifetime platinum; SPG account - basic member. I understand the points in the Marriott account are not subject to expiration because of the lifetime status, but what about the points in the SPG account? Does the lifetime Marriott status "protect" the points in the SPG account? If I'm reading my account in the SPG app correctly, my platinum status (from the Marriott account) is recognized but not clear if the lifetime/no points expiration is.
