This scenario happened to me en route to a business trip about 12 years ago. The (now former*) Mr. travelmad478 was driving me, in my car, to PHL for a BA flight PHL-LHR-BOM when he rear-ended someone in a traffic jam. The car was still driveable—barely—but needed significant and immediate repairs, so the first thing I did was call my corporate travel agent and make arrangements to shift my trip to the following day. Since my business trips were then booked on flexible fares, it was not a big deal to make the change, but needless to say there was a lot of sh*t to take care of the next day before I went to the airport again.

It was a tense drive home!
