I pretty much agree with storewanderer's basic review. The rooms need work. If you are in the area and need somewhere to stay: the hotel is clean, plenty of parking, wifi is fine, breakfast is very basic.

In my personal opinion, I don't think HH should be in this area, business is seasonal. There are already many hotels to choose from.
I'm not sure that "there are already many hotels to choose from" is really an argument -- this flag change will have no [meaningful] impact on the total number of rooms in the market, likely will neither increase nor decrease demand, and will raise the Hilton portfolio's market share from 0% to something.

The problem is that this has been a void for the Honors portfolio -- One of the clients I particularly enjoy working with is based in Chico and I've gotten intimately familiar with the HI Yuba City because it's the closest Honors property [well, and the In-N-Out Burger in the parking lot ] -- which seems kind of ridiculous for Chico and I'm sure is costing business for less rabid followers of loyalty programs, *I've* even thought of booking elsewhere. Now I'm not saying I'm going to book the new DT Chico [see also: In-N-Out Burger in parking lot] but it will be nice to have an option.

(Although, isn't the HI Red Bluff just about the same distance as the HI Yuba City from at least some parts of Chico? Stayed there once but the entire hotel smelled weird and there were some security items that made the hair on my neck go up)
